Overview Texas Oncology is looking for a Pharmacy Technician II to join our team! This position will support Flower Mound, TX location (4370 Medical Arts Drive, Suite 100, Flower Mound, TX 75028). Responsibilities What does the Pharmacy Technician II position do? The Pharmacy Technician II is responsible preparation of medication orders under supervision of a registered Pharmacist. Will be checking all orders for completion and verify patient information. The essential duties and responsibilities: Assists with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision of a registered pharmacist. Checks all orders for completeness of information. Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization. Under direct supervision, admixes drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner. Calculates correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents. Assists in counting controlled drugs weekly and maintain records. Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate Resolve issues when they arise (e.g. rejected insurance claims) Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory Qualifications The ideal candidate for the position will have the following background and experience: High school Diploma or equivalent Must be licensed with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and have a certification Must have 3+ years of pharmacy tech experience as well as a valid IV Cert Clinical experience is a must and chemo mixing are highly desired Texas Oncology is part of the US Oncology Network and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
