Job Description:
Summary/ObjectiveThe customer service specialist is responsible
for providing effective customer service for all internal and
external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of
company products and programs as well as communicating effectively
with team members within the customer service department.The
customer services representative position is responsible for
processing orders for merchandise received by EDI, e-mail or
personally from customers or company employees .The customer
service representative provides effective customer service by
establishing a working relationship with internal and external
customers through communication via mail or telephone or in person
with customers or company employees.Essential FunctionsReasonable

to perform the essential functions.Provides timely and accurate
information to incoming customer order status and product knowledge
requests.Processes customer orders/changes/returns per established
department policies and procedures.Works closely with the finance
department to resolve disputed credit items.Provides timely
feedback to the company regarding service failures or customer
concerns.Partners with the sales team to meet and exceed customer s
service expectations.Makes the initial contact with a client and
explains the service available.Processes customer orders and
payments.Maintains customer database: updates data and makes
necessary changes.Determines/understands customers needs with
strong objection/response handling.Logs customer queries/complaints
for quality team.Reviews orders received for price and
nomenclature. Obtain updated PO for pricing if deemed
necessaryInforms customers of shipping date, anticipated delays and
any additional information needed by the customer.Files copy of
orders received in ERP system.Follows up on orders to ensure
delivery by specified dates.Prepares invoices and shipping
documents such as export papers and commercial invoices.Checks
shipping orders to ensure they are accurate regarding quantity
shipped.Confers with production, shipping, warehouse or Ryder
personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.Answers
questions from customers or individuals regarding products or
directs them to the person able to assist them.Answers sales calls
and provides information as needed.Serves as liaison with
manufacturing, engineering and shipping personnel.Processes change
orders.Demonstrate complete understanding and ability to operate in
house computer systems and office equipment. Not limited to: order
processing, processing/creating reports, invoicing and data
retrieval.Receive and respond to Customer requests and questions,
not limited to: tracing outbound shipments, obtaining proof of
deliveries, sending samples and checking stock levels. Prepare
export documentation. Resolve Customer problems or complaints.
Present solutions for potential problem areas. Strive to exceed our
Customer s expectations.Be an active team member, offering
assistance wherever needed, re-prioritizing work to accommodate
more immediate customer or department needs. Be available and
willing to work overtime, and be at work every day, on time.Always
communicate professionally , maintaining a positive attitude
towards the Company, the Customers, the Brokers, Co-workers and all
members of Management.Communicate to your manager any unusual
situations which may affect the company or the completion of your
job in an effective and efficient manner.Perform other related
duties and projects as assigned.Perform all above-mentioned duties

responsibilities.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a clerical,
office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment
such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing
cabinets.Physical DemandsThis is largely a sedentary role; however,
some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift
files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool, as
necessary.The physical demands described here are representative of
those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the

printouts weighing up to 25 pounds.Position Type and Expected Hours
of WorkThis is a full-time position, and typical work hours are
Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in
hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the
core work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.TravelNo travel is
expected for this position.Required Education and ExperienceHigh
school diploma or GED.ERP experience - RequiredCustomer service
experience.Computer experience.To years of related experience
and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and
experience.Preferred Education and ExperienceAssociate degree or
equivalent from college or technical school.Additional Eligibility
