RN Charge Nurse - EmergencyCharge Nurse RN - ED
Work location: Texas Health Flower Mound - 4400 Long Prairie rd,
Flower Mound, Texas 75028
Work hours: Full time nights, 7p -7a

Here's What You Need
* Nursing Diploma required or
* Associate's Degree in Nursing required and
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
* 1 year experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting
required
* 2 years experience preferred
* RN upon hire required and
* BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained
quarterly required
* ACLS within 90 days of hire required and
* PALS within 90 days of hire required
What You Will Do
Texas Health's nursing theory is the Quality Caring Model developed
by Dr. Joanne Duffy. A nursing theory has principles that underlie

nurses, and charge nurses must model this behavior consistently.
This role directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units
and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a
clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks

* Conflict Management - Understanding of how to anticipate,
recognize, and deal effectively with existing or potential
conflicts at the individual, group, or situation level; ability to
apply this understanding appropriately to diverse situations.
* Decision Making and Critical Thinking - Knowledge of the
decision-making process and associated tools and techniques;
ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive
decisions based on informed judgment.
* Patient Safety - Knowledge of and experience with tools,
techniques and practices for ensuring a safe and harm-free
environment for patients; ability to recognize risks and take steps
to minimize them.
* Care Coordination - Knowledge of the medical, social, economic,
and other services provided by other departments or facilities, and
the ability to integrate these multidisciplinary treatments for
optimal patient care.
* Clinical Policies and Standards - Knowledge of all clinical
standards and policies set for a healthcare environment; ability to
use industry standards, policies and procedures in the processes of
clinical practice.
* Patient Rights - Knowledge of principles and practices associated
with the rights and responsibilities of patients and caregivers;
ability to apply these theories to identify, report, deal with and
prevent patient rights violations.
