Job Description:
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Medical Assistant to join
our team! As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for
rooming patients and taking histories, assisting physician with
minor procedures, applying casts, splints, phone triage, scheduling
surgeries, and other related duties as assigned. DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Physician in clinic with minor procedures.
- Perform all back office duties, including rooming and taking
patient histories. Applying and removing dressings, sutures, and
staples.
- Applying cast, splints and DME.
- Preparing patients for surgery and post-operative care.
- Ordering test, DME and Injections.
- Scheduling surgeries.
- Charting and phone triage.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient's information.
- Maintain work area and exam rooms.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
- Adhere to OSHA Standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior Orthopedic experience or training is helpful but not
required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one
to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
- Certificates, licenses, and registrations required: CMA, CCMA,
NCRMA, ROT, OTC
- Computer skills required: Basic computer knowledge and EMR
experience.
- Other skills helpful but not required: casting, splinting and
brace knowledge. COMPETENCIES:
